Hello, Ishtaria! No, I'm not here to provide you with a steady income of waifutology. I'm here to help you be the best forum member you can be. Lots of people view sites like this and just read what's posted then promptly navigate to another site. We call those people "lurkers." While there's nothing inherently wrong with lurking, but it can make a forum look dead to the outside world if a majority of users. This can ultimately spell the end of a community that's actually very much alive.
"Ok, Esdeath. What are you getting at here?"
I'll be happy to answer that! If you care about these forums (and I assume you do since you clicked on this post), then you have the opportunity to contribute to this community!
Here are some simple steps you can take to make Ishtaria great again, in order of level of involvement:
1. If you like a post, click the "like" button.
It may seem silly to the everyday user to give imaginary internet points to an online stranger, but nothing makes a site look abandoned like a wall of posts with no likes.
2. If you have something to add or just want to say what you liked best about a post, Nike (just do it).
Posts with no comments give the appearance of a lack of interest in the community. Not only will this make newcomers think the site is dead, but it will also discourage content creators from posting further content.
3. Create posts.
Even a small discussion post boosts the liveliness of a forum. Don't be afraid to click that "Create Thread" button; it won't bite. All posts matter, so don't be intimidated by posts that use bbcode so much that it looks professionally done. Your voice matters!
That's not so hard, right? Now, go take this to the forum boards and reddit, where you mustn't let your memes be dreams.
Take it from someone who's seen both successful and failed communities from start to finish. The AoI forum/reddit community rely on you and me to thrive.
